please complain to SP CBI ACB Mumbai on 9820185123 or 022 22882794

2.The law [which most of us are not aware of] clearly states that between 6 pm and 6 am (from sunset until sunrise), a woman has the right to REFUSE to go to the Police Station , even if an arrest warrant has been issued against her. It is a procedural issue that a woman can be arrested between 6pm and 6am, if and ONLY if she is arrested by a woman officer & taken to an ALL WOMEN police station.. And if she is arrested by a male officer, it has to be proven that a woman officer was on duty at the time of arrest.

It is good for us to know our rights.

In cities of constantly shifting and migrating populations, acquiring relevant paperwork, such as proof of address issued by Government offices, like a passport , ration card etc becomes difficult.

The Indian Department of Posts (Post Office) has come up with a solution.

You can now get an Address proof card along with your photo from India post. Since the ID proof is issued by India post which is a central government organization, it is similar to Govt. ID cards like Driving license, Voters ID etc. This card can be used for opening bank accounts, for getting telephone/internet connections etc.

The total cost for getting this ID card is Rs.250/ (Rs.10 for application and Rs.240/- processing fee).

Please pass on this useful information amongst all your friends and acquaintances. For details please enquire at the nearest post office.

Now that the hue and cry about the pink chaddi campaign has died down i thought its a good time to talk about something real, something effective and something that can really make a difference to our own lives and impact those around us.

Many of us, atleast those of us with a social conscience, want to do something about the ills and disparities we live amidst, but dont know what or how to go about it. Though the intentions of most people are good, they are often wary. Will their donations reach the needy? Will it be worth their time? Will their contributions be put to the wrong use? I am constantly asked these questions, and my answer is if you want to do something just do it. The rest will all fall into place. Wether its cancer support, women and childrens abuse, eye donation, education and literacy, whatever it is that you feel strongly about, all one has to do is take the first step. Whichever part of the country you are living in and whatever your economic status. Because its not only your money you can contribute, but your time, your ideas, and your love.

TASC…Towards a Special Cause, the brainchild of Pooja Kapur- is a non profit initiative started to address exactly these issues. To help spread awareness and conceptualize innovative ways to support various causes.

Because a tiny drop can cause a ripple of change

Every step taken towards helping someone is a step worth taking

Every effort counts and is significant in some way.
